Infant Nutritional Care : How to Prepare Baby Formula

Furnishing your baby with the right kind of toy to play with is very good for accelerating the growth of his body and his perception. For infants, the playground is the school ground and it is during their playtime that their mental and physical faculties are enhanced.

The energy of the infant is focused on the development of its organs, its muscles and its bones. This is plainly why babies grow at a faster rate than young children and adults. To help in this developmental stage, we should make sure that the baby gets all the nutrients that they need. Additionally, steps should also be taken to give the baby the tools (toys) that he can use for learning how to utilize and control his muscles and their associated bones.

.The mental faculties of infants are not yet capable of inventing ways for them to willfully stimulate their growth. Instead of that, they are endowed with intensely inquisitive natures which lead them to touch, smell and manipulate everything they see and can reach. It is this ‘meddling’ nature of babies that we have to use to teach them the skills they need to learn.

Obviously, the toys that we give to infants should be without surfaces that can physically harm the infant. The two main things to avoid in toys are pointed shapes and sharp edges on the toys themselves. The overall contour of the toy should not be elongated either. The best ones to get will be rounded.

Balls, oblongs and round-shaped toys are the recommendable shapes and designs to look for. Box-y ones, especially if the corners are sharp, are not safe for baby during his first three years.

Carefully consider the paint that was used on the baby toy. Inorganic paints have chemical ingredients which, even after the paint has dried, continue to discharge harmful chemicals into the air for some time. Also, the fact that babies are prone to put things in their mouths or to lick on their toys makes inorganic paints an unsafe choice.  Besides inorganic dyes, you also need to look out for flammable ones. In that regard, most inorganic dyes are flammable.

Therefore, carefully inquire about what type of coloring substance was used for your baby’s toy. The substance needs to be water rather than oil-based. It is the oil-based dyes that are fire hazards and many oil-based dyes contain chemicals that are also toxic when inhaled or ingested.  So get toys that have been colored with water-based paints, like latex or milk paint.

Latex (which is really the sap of certain trees) is the binder that is used in latex paints. Binders fix the dye on the surface that was painted. In nature, the sap is not poisonous. When dried, it is not flammable. Therefore toys painted with latex are safe for babies., within normal usage.

Your safest option for painted toys for babies are those which were colored with milk paint. The dye consists of nothing more toxic than milk pigments, substances derived from the earth and earth pigments.  Of course, you have to be sure that the baby is allergic neither to latex nor to milk.
